A hidden gem with warm vibes

The family atmosphere enhances your stay. Enjoyed the delicious meals, especially the fresh and flavorful casado, and marveled at the lively tropical gardens teeming with birds.

Room acoustics could be better, as conversations from neighboring rooms were often audible. The drive to the hotel is undeniably rugged-definitely recommend a 4x4 vehicle for those rough roads.

We liked staying 2 nights here. What an amicable and hospitable staff, they gave us a cosy room with several beds, the garden, for instance. The rate was gbp 27. This hotel was set in a remote area near to the National Parks of Volcan Tenerio and Volcan Rincon, nature and wildlife, and Rio Celeste.

Rooms are cosy and great with several beds, the garden, as example, food is well presented. It has marvellous location next door to Priory Ruins. The atmosphere of the hotel is quiet!

Rooms are uncomfortably tight!!! Poor lighting makes it hard to relax. Walls are thin, leading to quite a noisy environment. Room cleanliness leaves much to be desired!!! Be prepared for less-than-friendly service!!!

Swimming in Rio Celeste was amazing, but the wifi really struggled in the cabins.

The semi-private swimming hole was a total gem! The family atmosphere was heartwarming, they treated us like one of their own. Plus, the delicious meals at the onsite restaurant were a highlight, especially the traditional local dishes served with fresh vegetables.

The traditional Costa Rican lunch at their restaurant was fantastic, especially the flavorful Casado with plantains and salad.

Stayed at posada rio celeste la amistad for 2 nights, and it was fantastic! The milkshakes were very nice, some of the best in costa rica! The room was super comfy, and we loved the beautiful mountain setting with all the birds around.

The place was like a hidden gem. Super clean and surrounded by lush gardens. The staff were friendly and loved showing us around! Breakfasts were fresh and tasty. Especially those good smoothies. Just a quick walk to the park entrance for more adventures!

The staff were super friendly, especially a lady who showed us around to find frogs. The semi-private swimming hole was lit, too! Dinner was the highlight, best meal we've had in CR. Just wish the wifi worked better sometimes, but who needs it when you're surrounded by nature?

The family running this hotel makes you feel welcome, treating guests as extended family. The lush gardens and entertaining parrots add charm, while the delicious homemade pasta at the restaurant was a highlight. The rustic cabins can feel cramped, and the thin walls lead to noise from neighboring rooms, which may disrupt your peace. Better soundproofing would enhance the experience.

The Double Room was comfy, had a small refrigerator, and the quality of the windows was nice-they opened and locked easily. The beds were cozy, and everything was clean. But it was a bit rustic and some spots needed a scrub, especially in the corners. I also wished for better soundproofing since we could hear a bit from the neighboring rooms. A good stay with some charm!

The cabins provide a rustic charm and a genuine family atmosphere, with good interactions from the parrots. Be prepared for mild temperature drops at night, and while the hot water isn't always powerful, the immersive nature experience makes up for it. Engaging with local wildlife adds a fun twist.
